Unsettling Settler-Colonial Education: Join us for an interactive book discussion with co-editors Dr. Robin Zape-tah-hol-ah Minthorn of University of Washington-Tacoma, Dr. Anna Lees of Western Washington University and Dr. Cornel Pewewardy of Portland State University. Heather Jefferson of Lummi Nation will moderate audience Q&A. Their book uses an innovative multicultural framework to address efforts at decolonization among educators, integrating diversity and promoting critical consciousness.
Our lead-up programs examine themes from The Cold Millions, including the impacts of colonization and racism. Consider, for example, how attitudes and education limited choices for Jules (Spokane and Palus people). Read the book. Join the conversation.
